Egypt Otsuka to establish a new company jointly with a local company to provide IV solution business

Otsuka Pharmaceutical Factory, Inc. (Head Office: Naruto, Tokushima, Japan; President and Representative Director: Shinichi Ogasawara; "OPF") announces that its affiliated company, Egypt Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., S.A.E. (Egypt Otsuka), has agreed to jointly participate with a local pharmaceutical company Gypto Pharma for Trading and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing S.A.E. (Gypto) to establish a new company, Otsuka Gypto Pharmaceutical Egypt S.A.E. (Otsuka Gypto), which will sell ethical drugs such as IV solutions locally and has concluded a contract.

Egypt Otsuka and Gypto concluded the contract as strategic and promising partners with each other. Otsuka Gypto will provide information on ethical drugs, including high-quality IV solutions manufactured by Egypt Otsuka and Gypto, and sell the drugs not only in Egypt but also in neighboring countries such as the Middle East and Africa.

In the 1970s, the Otsuka Group began expanding its pharmaceutical-related business overseas. With regard to the IV solution business, we are currently contributing to medical care in each country through 15 operating companies. Egypt Otsuka was established in 1992 as the successor to Arab Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., S.A.E. established in 1977 to supply ethical drugs such as IV solutions and therapeutic drugs in Egypt. Currently Egypt Otsuka not only sells them in Egypt but also exports them to neighboring countries such as the Middle East and Africa. We plan to develop new businesses in the future, such as expanding export destinations by selling some of these products through Otsuka Gypto.

Gypto is one of the leading companies forming "The Medical City of Egypt," which is called the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing base in the Middle East in compliance with the latest international quality standards. We plan to sell IV solution products manufactured at the plant located in this site through Otsuka Gypto.
